In honor of the restaurant chain’s 50th anniversary, Popeyes Cajun-rice meal is returning to Popeyes’ menu. The fast-food chain made the announcement that it will offer Cajun rice for a limited time to celebrate this milestone.
Longing For Popeyes Cajun rice
On June 12, 1972, Alvin C. Copeland Sr began a fast-food restaurant called Chicken on the Run, serving Cajun-cooked chicken, as on the Popeyes website. Copeland, therefore, rebranded the restaurant calling it Popeyes after Popeye Doyle, Gene Hackman’s character from the 1971 film “The French Connection.”
Last year, when the Popeyes unexpectedly terminated the Popeyes Cajun rice daily deal meal. For this, thousands of angry customers took to Twitter to voice their unhappiness. According to a French press release, Popeyes “recognized the outpouring of emotions the discrepancy caused among fans.”
Popeyes Chicken Deal for $0.59 cents
Similarly, on its 50-year anniversary, Popeyes offered a special two-piece chicken deal for $0.59 cents, matching its original price.
The Popeyes Louisiana-based chicken chain knew it and had to offer them what they wanted. So, starting today, Popeyes is giving their beloved customers what they desire. Cajun Rice will return to menus across the country but for a limited time only.
